WHO & WHAT WE ARE
In just a few semesters, The Convergency has grown into a truly global student newsroom—active across 7 countries with contributors from the U.S. mainland and territories, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, China, the U.K., and Australia. We now operate in 20+ schools, publish at professional cadence with 300+ articles live, and sustain a thriving community of 100+ active writers spanning everything from macro analysis to startup deep-dives. Our U.S. footprint stretches coast-to-coast—from the Northeast to the Sun Belt and West Coast—while our Asia network anchors in major international schools across Korea and Japan, complemented by rising desks in Southeast Asia and China, and expanding chapters in the U.K. and Australia. The result: a cross-border, cross-disciplinary pipeline where student reporters learn real editorial rigor, sharpen research that stands up to scrutiny, and ship work that’s read, cited, and used.
VISION
The project aspires to nurture and enrich students’ expertise in the dynamic realms of economics and business, along with an invaluable foundation in research skills that are pivotal for their personal academic growth. Through the liberating practice of writing free-style articles, students will be encouraged to explore their own individual interest with profound depth and curiosity, allowing them to acquire new knowledge and insights. This journey of exploration not only will enhance comprehension of the field of interest but also equip students with the intellectual tool and confidence needed to embark on future endeavours beyond the confines of school. By fostering a rich environment of learning and discovery, the project also aims to inspire students to envision and pursue potential pathways that will shape their lives in the ever-evolving world of economics and business.
The project’s potential global presence, with branches spanning Korea, Vietnam, and the United States, aims to provide a unique opportunity for building international relationships and extensive networking. This cross-cultural exchange is instrumental in nurturing students to become critically-thinking global leaders, an aspect in which the project will constantly serve to promote.
CVRGCY
The Convergency is a student-led website publication project centred around the topic of economics and business in the modern world. Students will be provided with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and fundamental research skills in fabricating news-style articles, in whichever means they pursue. Completed articles will be moderated by a board of editors before publication, ensuring that the article aligns with the project objectives, in addition to delivering final suggestions of improvements. The merit in participation of such a project, undoubtedly, is the fact that students will be able to attain status as writers upon earning publication to the main website, which can be utilized in college applications or indicate experience and essential skill sets in future endeavours.
International News
Global snapshots matter because business is a supply chain of ideas. Korea watches the chip cycle like a weather report; Vietnam keeps climbing the value chain; the U.S. services engine hums while goods cool. We avoid stereotypes and dig into the numbers behind headlines. Local context makes global narratives real.
